The Senate voted 98-1 on his one-line amendment that states "it is the sense of the Senate that climate change is real and not a hoax."

I'd vote yes myself.  He does not say it is man-made.  He doesn't say the planet is warming.  All he is saying is that the climate changes.  Of course it does.  It has been since the Big Bang.

I wonder how the senate would vote on this resolution:

"It is the sense of the senate that the earth is warming, that the trend is more than 50 percent caused by man, and that it is reversible by political means."

So obviously the intention here was to give the American people the impression that humans are causing global warming. I wonder how conscious all of the right wing voters were of not actually saying that is true. Maybe they thought they'd pretend they were giving the left what it wanted and get approval of the pipeline out of it. Either way I think this will have drastic ramifications as far as the climate change debate is concerned. No matter how legitimate this vote actually was or wasn't I believe it is going to sway a lot of people.
