Whatever was the real catalyst, French leaders are now coming out with open condemnation of “radical Islam” and vowing to fight it wherever and when ever it shows itself inside the borders of France. This is happening while across the Atlantic, the President of the United States, a country that lost some three thousand lives to radical Islam, refuses to use that term while at the very same time engaging in a long anti-law enforcement campaign that has deeply divided the very nation he is to be leading. It is an odd and troubling paradox and one that sends very dangerous signals to those would so willingly give their own lives to take our own in the name of their version of Allah.

Valls’ words come on the heels of French Intelligence reports indicating several known and likely several more unknown, Islamic “sleeper cells” have been activated inside of France following the killing of three of the Muslim fanatics suspected of orchestrating the brutal Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris last week. French authorities are convinced these sleeper cells are now actively preparing for more similar styled attacks.
Meanwhile in the United States, Barack Obama has to date given his condolences to the French people, but said almost nothing regarding those responsible for the terrorism. Initially the White House refused to even call the massacre an act of terrorism, only doing so until after French authorities declared it to be just that. Since that time, Mr. Obama has continued to refuse to link the Charlie Hebdo massacre to radical Islam.
Is it some instinctive affinity for the Muslim world that prevents Barack Obama from doing so, or perhaps a quiet understanding for the attack upon the idea of a truly free press that makes him so unwilling to condemn the twisted religious philosophy that would do anything to silence those in the media who challenge exceedingly thin skinned views and values?
Remember, reader, it has been the Obama administration that has time and again attacked those in the media who did not fully embrace its agenda. The Obama Department of Justice threatened imprisonment of journalists, and in a more recent development, is being sued by former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson for undergoing a program of intimidation against her that included hacking into her computers while she was developing investigative stories involving potential administrative cover ups. Military generals have been pushed out for speaking out against the administration, and conservative political groups harassed and intimidated by the IRS and other government agencies allegedly acting on behalf of the White House itself. The sad fact is regarding freedom of expression, Barack Obama has far less in common with the challenging of institutions of power and authority that was the foundation of the Charlie Hebdo writers and cartoonists and far more in common with the radicals who silenced them.
These actions by the Obama administration have further emboldened those who think it justice to silence critics in the most violent and extreme ways possible, just as ISIS is doing throughout the Middle East soon after Obama declared them a minor threat, or as radical Islamist Nidal Hasan did when he killed twelve and injured thirty others at the Fort Hood military base in Texas – a terrorist attack the Obama administration continues to simply call “workplace violence” despite an investigation linking Hasan to militant Islamists abroad and Hasan’s own admittance he did what he did in the name of Allah.
Let us NEVER forget this was the response of the President of the United States after being informed America had just suffered its worst terrorist attack against a military base inside the United States. Barack Obama is given that information and then proceeds to go ahead with a scheduled photo-op public appearance that has him reading from a script that included a “shout out” to Dr. Joe Medicine Crow. Some two minutes later the president says some words about the Ft. Hood Massacre, having clearly conveyed a message to the world that the tragedy was secondary in importance to giving shout outs and making further political promises to supporters.

UPDATE: Some in media now reporting of NO American representation at the pro-freedom rally in Paris today. Attorney General Eric Holder was in Paris, but did not participate despite nearly every other major western world power being there to do so. Is the administration upset over France’s willingness to openly declare war on radical Islam?
