Terror attacks will take Sunday spotlight
By Lydia Wheeler

Last week’s terrorism attacks in Paris will dominate the political talk shows on Sunday following the first week of the newly GOP-controlled Congress.

The shows come just days after militant Islamist brothers, who were later killed by police, killed 12 people – 10 journalists and two police officers – on Wednesday in a targeted attack on Charlie Hebdo, a weekly satirical newspaper best known for its controversial cartoons that caricatured the Prophet Muhammad.

The violence continued throughout the rest of the week with an attack on a Jewish Deli and the shooting of a policewoman. A total of 17 people have died.

The major networks will bring on Attorney General Eric Holder to discuss the latest developments of the events in Paris, which have pushed politicians to question Obama’s administrative foreign policy and budget priorities.

Fox News Sunday also plans to talk with Sens. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) and Chris Coons (D-Del.) about the looming battle between Congress and President Obama, who has threatened to veto legislation allowing for the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.

Here’s the lineup:

ABC’s  “This Week”: George Stephanopoulos will talk with Holder and Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), the newly appointed chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, about the latest terror attack.

NBC’s “Meet the Press”: Chuck Todd will also talk to Holder about the situation in Paris.

CBS’ “Face the Nation”: Holder will appear on the show from Paris where he plans to attend an international summit on terrorism and meet with European officials. Host Bob Schieffer will also talk to Rep. Michael McCaul, (R-Texas.), chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, and Sen. John Cornyn, (R-Texas), about the GOP agenda for funding Homeland Security.

CNN’s “State of the Union”: Host Gloria Borger will talk with Attorney General Eric Holder, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee; and Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) about the latest developments in the Charlie Hebdo terror attack in Paris.

“Fox News Sunday”: Will bring on Gen. Martin Dempsey, Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, to discuss where the U.S. stands on the fight against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria, Afghanistan and Iran’s nuclear program. Sens. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) and Chris Coons (D-Del.) will also be on to discuss the battle between President Obama and Congress on the controversial Keystone XL pipeline.
