The judgment of the Tea Party, to settle for Pierson as their candidate, is a display and proof they won't grow, and will probably decline.

The TEA Party became a moneymaking scheme for the bigs at the top.

The professional fundraisers, who raise money--in this case from the MOST gullible, politically naïve-- and take commissions on both the funds raised, then again on ads placed,  get paid win, or lose.

The TP regulars should be embarrassed they lost control to the professionals. Now the Tea Party is no more than an old fashioned "direct mail" fundraising opportunity, but on the internet.

Tea Party Nation Network, Tea Party Express, World Nut Daily and more. They milk naïve, gullible people.

The dems must cheer, and cheer loudly, for the crusty, olde, near-senile TP regulars, who defend such incompetent candidate vetting.

TEA is very alive, well and growing!  Well, say what you want about TEA, but they are the reason that Rand Paul and Ted Cruz were seated.  They are the reason we will have 30 GOP governors seated come January and they are the reason behind the GOP tidal wave we just saw in January.  Both Paul and Cruz adhere to the principles upon which this great country was founded and most importantly HONOR the U.S. CONSTITUTION!
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Welcome libertybele.  Nice to see a fresh face again.

You mention Sen Paul and Sen Cruz.  They are both great Republicans, but both men came to power in 2010 and neither has faced statewide re-election.  Lots of other fantastic Republicans were re-elected in 2014 like Sen Majority Leader McConnell, Senate Majority Whip Cornyn, Senator Alexander, Senator Graham, Sen Cochran, and Sen Roberts.  They would all likely tell you the Tea Party's primary challenges cost us several Senate seats in 2014 because money and time needed to be wasted defending safe seats.  Sen Tillis and Sen Sullivan won rat seats despite their own tea party challenges.

I'd agree the Tea Party still lives...but growing?
