Well, looks like some of the "Oath Keepers" have tried a variation of that in Ferguson, taking up positions on top of businesses and other buildings, armed with weapons.
So what was the "official" response?
To put police and National Guardsmen on adjacent buildings, with their weapons pointed at the Oath Keepers!
This recalls the standoff in Nevada at the Cliven Bundy ranch.
Who "stood strong" there?
Who won that confrontation?
(Aside: the "winners" there won because they showed up in enough numbers and refused to back down)
Some reading suggestions for you personally, onc:
- Civil War II, by Thomas Chittum
- Matt Bracken's "Enemies Trilogy" (1. Enemies, Foreign & Domestic; 2. Domestic Enemies, The Reconquista; 3. Foreign Enemies and Traitors)
- Unintended Consequences, by John Ross (long, but an important read in this day and time)
- The Turner Diaries (yes, this is a controversial one particularly concerning who wrote it, but deserves serious consideration)
I know that nos. 1 and 4 are freely available on the net. The others can be found "for cheap" if you know where to look...
