Latino leader: Amnesty for all 11 million illegal immigrants or bust

 By Paul Bedard  | November 19, 2014 | 3:55 pm

Advocates for illegal immigrants are bristling at President Obama’s plan to grant some sort of amnesty to about half of the nation’s 11 million illegals and are now demanding that every undocumented immigrant be allowed in.

“Rumors of presidential executive action helping only 5 million would not even deal with half of the problem we currently face,” said Arturo Carmona, executive director of Presente.org, in a just-issued statement.

"The fact of the matter is that Republicans will show no mercy regardless of whether it is a comprehensive or partial solution. This week, the president has a historic opportunity to right his previous betrayals of the Latino community and lead the Democratic Party and Latinos back together,” he added.

Presente.org and other immigrant advocacy groups have long pushed for a comprehensive immigration plan and are angry that Obama delayed his action until after Election Day. Many are also now miffed with his limited plan set for announcement Thursday night.

“We need a broad and inclusive executive order that begins to protect all 11 million undocumented immigrants,” said Carmona.
