Parents Shocked by Disgusting Sex Ed Curriculum in Chicago Public Elementary Schools

Parents of kids attending the Andrew Jackson Language Academy in Chicago were surprised and outraged to learn about the things that their little ones would be learning in sex ed. this coming year. In a presentation given during a parent meeting, the parents were introduced to what Chicago Public School officials were saying is the new sex health curriculum for 5th and 6th graders. However, some of the information covered was beyond startling for the parents, who said some of it was even news to them!

"It definitely gets to an inappropriate level, things I wouldn’t even discuss in my own personal life," said parent Rachel Gigliotti. "Sex with a condom, sex without a condom, sex with lube — things that no sixth grader should ever be exposed to.”

“Sexual awareness, OK — but how to use a condom, and that it was going to be shown how, is a little bit extreme,” said parent Tamara Gear.

“Things that no 6th grader, who is 11 – maybe, should ever be exposed to.”

“More of a “how to” than “here’s the biology, here’s the information…”

The school system said that the material was accidentally included and was not actually a part of the curriculum.

“The objectionable material presented at Andrew Jackson Language Academy this week is not and never was part of the student sexual education curriculum. It was mistakenly downloaded and included in the parent presentation, and we agree with parents it is not appropriate for elementary school students,” CPS spokesman Bill McCaffrey said in a statement. “As part of our sexual health education policy approved by the Board of Education in 2013, Chicago Public Schools offers a comprehensive sexual education curriculum that is designed to ensure age-appropriate material and minimum instructional minutes for every grade level, consisting of family and sexual health education topics for K-12 students.”

However, parents who attended the event aren’t buying the school districts explanation, because there was a district representative in attendance who was answering questions about the curriculum at the parent meeting. Many of the parents were questioning the material being discussed and it seemed that the questionable material was indeed part of the planned curriculum.

Below are just two of the slides that startled and angered parents at the event. Be Warned these are not for all Eyes - but these are two of the more mild examples of the shocking slides.

You can see the entire presentation here. Warning, much of it is not safe for public consumption.
