5th Video Shows Gruber Laughing At and Mocking ObamaCare Critic's Accurate Predictions

by DEBRA HEINE  14 Nov 2014, 10:56 AM PDT

In one week's time Jonathan Gruber has gone from the brilliant and celebrated ObamaCare architect whose expert views were sought after as he sat on one panel after another - to a completely disowned laughingstock regarded by the ruling class as having "remarkable hubris" and views that are "not good" and "damaging."

I was actually beginning to feel a little sorry for Gruber.

Then this next video came out.

Quote
Watchdog.org’s Bruce Parker has this clip from the ObamaCare architect’s appearance before a Vermont legislative panel in February 2011, where one of the committee members read a warning letter about the dangers of adopting a massive, top-down government program controlling health insurance markets. After hearing a list of predicted negative consequences, Gruber dismissed it as something that might have been “written by my adolescent children”

Ed Morrissey took the liberty of writing out all of the adolescent child's predictions that had the room full of single-payer proponents in stitches.

Quote
Coercive mandates
Ballooning costs
Increased taxes
Bureaucratic outrages
Shabby facilities
Disgruntled providers
Long waiting lines
Lower quality care
Special-interest nest-feathering,
Destructive wage and price controls

If those predictions look amazingly accurate, it's because the man who wrote the oped (described as adolescent by Gruber) is a health care policy expert who served as a senior policy adviser to President Ronald Reagan and who also served two terms as a Vermont state senator.

Quote
“It was actually written by a former senior policy adviser in the White House who knew something about health care systems,” said John McClaughry, a two-term Vermont state senator and adviser to President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s.

McClaughry, who wrote the comment in an op-ed weeks before the 2011 committee meeting, told Vermont Watchdog he did not know Gruber made the condescending insult. However, he was aware of other videos discovered this week in which Gruber boasted of writing deceptive policies to trick “stupid” American voters.

“No one should trust this man. … Based on the rest of the stuff that’s come out on the videos, nobody can trust this guy. He has no use for transparency, he thinks people are stupid, and he’ll do anything to get this thing through and pocket his $400,000. That’s not in the interest of the people of Vermont,” McClaughry said.

That's not in the interest of the people of entire country, actually.

5th Jonathan Gruber Video – This time Mocking Obamacare Critics as “Adolescent Children”

Wow. If you needed any more proof that Jonathan Gruber was an arrogant asshat, this video should just about seal the deal for you. This is the 5th video that has surfaced showing Gruber, one of the Obamacare architects, speaking in less than glowing terms about his fellow citizens. The first four mainly covered the people who Gruber and the Democrats were using to get Obamacare passed. He called them “stupid American voters” and told audiences that the government had, in effect, lied to ensure the bill would pass. He also admitted that lying was the most effective way to get legislation passed.

Now in the 5th video he finally attacks the people who wouldn’t believe his lies. In 2011 Gruber was appearing before a Vermont legislative panel when one of the panel members read a letter warning Vermont about the dangers of adopting a program like Obamacare.

Oddly enough the letter warns that Obamacare would lead to…

Coercive mandates, Ballooning costs, Increased taxes, Bureaucratic outrages, Shabby facilities, Disgruntled providers, Long waiting lines, Lower quality care, Special-interest nest-feathering, and Destructive wage and price controls.

jonathan gruber2Gruber thought these concerns came from “adolescent children,” but all of them seem pretty accurate now, don’t they? If it sounds now like the letter was written from a wise intellectual… it’s because it was. The letter was written by former Vermont state Senator and policy adviser to President Reagan, John McClaughry. He’d written the op-ed just a few weeks before the committee meeting and this is what he had to say after viewing this video and the others that have recently come to light showing Gruber’s arrogance.

The esteemed former state senator also said he wasn’t offended by what Gruber said, though he did think it was unprofessional.

“Gruber could have said, ‘I think that’s an unduly pessimistic view of the matter. We can do better than what that person projects.’ That would have been alright, if predictable.

And responding to the laughter from the committee members in the video,“The people who laughed aren’t going to be laughing when it’s over, if we ever get to the unfortunate implementation of this. … He’s not playing straight with the American people or Vermonters.”

Only liberals can know they’re lying (as Gruber has repeatedly admitted) and laugh when someone speaks the truth. It’s an amazing talent, no?
