Democrats Offer Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s Job to FOX News Host

Sure it’s Bob Beckel, who’s a Dem in reasonably good standing, but it’s still an odd choice.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is off-putting, incompetent, terrible on camera and terrible as a person. But she could at least fundraise. I’m not sure what Bob Beckel brings to the table.

Maybe this is like the time that the GOP dumped the job on the wrong person for it because they were looking for a patsy to take the blame after a catastrophic election. Sure, let’s get the FOX News guy to do it. Either him or Al Sharpton.


Bob Beckel, one of Fox News’ resident Democrats, says he was asked whether he had any interest in running the Democratic National Committee.

He said no.

Beckel has a long resume in Democratic politics, including running Walter Mondale’s 1984 presidential campaign.

And that went well.

But I would much rather see Bob Beckel influential in the Democratic Party than Schultz or Obama or really most of that gang. His position on Islamic terrorism is better than that of 90 percent of the GOP. And he occasionally suffers from outbursts of common sense.

The way he sits on "The Five", he should wear a tam-o-shanter and hold a wooden cudgel, he would look like the Toad Prince.

He comes off as a "reasonable" democrat - if any such thing exists.  But if you listen closely you see he is just another dyed in the wool progressive who isn't quite as acerbic as he would prefer so he can pick up his paycheck from Fox.
