In places where the uninsured rate plummeted this year, Republicans still scored big electoral victories.

Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia — states that saw substantial drops in the proportion of their residents without insurance — all elected Republican Senate candidates who oppose the Affordable Care Act. Control of the West Virginia state House of Delegates flipped from Democrats to Republicans. And Arkansas elected Republican supermajorities to both houses of its legislature along with a Republican governor, a situation that could imperil the Medicaid expansion that helped more than 200,000 of its poorest residents get health insurance.

There is one big point nobody seems to be emphasizing - there is a world of difference between owning a policy and being able to get any benefit out of using that policy.  The policy we had was taken away from us - because of Obamacare - and we were forced to buy an Obamacare policy that, for all practical purposes, is nothing more than a catastrophic coverage policy because the deductible is so high, and the network of doctors who accept it so small, that pretty much everything that used to be covered under our old policy we must now pay for out of pocket.  And yet we still basically pay the same premium for the policy.

The headline isn't accurate. No state benefits from Obamacare.

Funny it should mention W.Va., which was among the very first to adopt the healthcare exchanges. Of course, that was back when W.Va. was Democrat-controlled. Post-election, Republicans control both the House and Senate. (All the Dems have is a governor and the majority on the state Supreme Court - for now).  I guess the people have spoken, and what they're saying is that they don't want Obamacare, "benefits" notwithstanding.
