Sarah Palin: Romney in 'Never Never Land' on Immigration Reform
Monday, November 3, 2014 07:52 AM

Former Republican standard-bearer Mitt Romney's remark on Fox News Sunday that if Republicans capture the Senate they will pass immigration reform brought a sharp rebuke from Sarah Palin, Breitbart reported.

Romney said that Republicans would move to "first of all to secure the border, second of all to deal with those who have come here illegally, and third, to make sure our immigration policies are open and transparent to many people who do want to come here illegally."

Republicans would send an immigration bill to the president, "if we finally have someone besides Harry Reid sitting in the Senate," said the 2012 Republican nominee.

Palin, the GOP's 2008 vice presidential nominees, told Breitbart: "Governor Romney is busy promoting some decent policies; perhaps that's why he clearly hasn't followed today's races because every Republican is campaigning against amnesty and every Democrat gunning for the Senate is campaigning for it. With all due respect, Governor Romney is in never never land on this one."

The former Alaska governor added: "Where the heck have these GOP establishment types been during this election season?"

Palin declared that "GOP Senate candidates [have been] promising to do everything in their power to stop Obama's lawlessness, including his unjust amnesty that Americans do not support," according to Breitbart.

"Obama's unconstitutional executive amnesty will radically erode American sovereignty, and Harry Reid and his lemmings are determined to protect Obama's amnesty anyway. We can't block funding for Obama's failed policies including amnesty unless we dispatch Harry Reid," said Palin.

Establishment Republicans favor some form of immigration reform; tea party-aligned Republicans like Palin worry reform will be a cloak for granting across-the-board amnesty to millions of illegal migrants already in the country.

She has written against the "wealthy bipartisan elite, who want cheap foreign labor and can afford for themselves the best 'border security' money can buy in their own exclusive communities."

Palin believes this elite doesn't worry about the consequences of immigration on native-born Americans or on legal immigrants, Breitbart reported.

Ms. Palin's irrelevance continues apace.  Which is a shame; she had such potential back in 2008.

And why exactly do you declare her irrelevant?  Do you always let the media make such judgments for you?

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Nope.  I make my own judgments, DIY from scratch, as it were.
