Can't get near it. Police are turning everyone away and moving people on if they try to hang about, including reporters.

Police surround Woolwich petrol station after man 'doused himself in petrol'

 Police surrounded a Woolwich petrol station this evening after a man doused himself in petrol and threatened to set himself alight, witnesses say.

The incident reportedly happened at a petrol station in Artillery Place at around 7.30pm.

One witness claimed the man told police: "Shoot me, dog."

The Met Police helicopter was also called in and the road was sealed off as the stand-off continued.

A man was later arrested at the scene.

More to follow.

Very minimal detail. It being right opposite the barracks has me concerned more than usual.
