Saturday Night Live Ridicules Obama and His Ebola Czar Ron Klain

By Brent Baker | October 26, 2014 | 3:20 AM EDT

Out of sync with MSNBC, NBC’s Saturday Night Live opened last night with a skit in which “President Obama” acknowledged the ineptitude of his administration and “Ron Klain,” the Ebola Czar, conceded to a reporter that he has no medical expertise. Picking up on poor Democratic prospects in the mid-term elections, the comedy show then had Klain warning “the Ebola virus actually flourishes in warmer climates,” so “if you live in a southern state, such as Louisiana, Arkansas, or Kentucky, you actually may want to avoid any large public spaces like, say, a polling booth.” An “exception, however, is that we believe Latinos in red states may actually have an immunity to Ebola.”

The entire five minute skit posted on NBC.com[float=right][/float]

In the video excerpt above of portions of the skit which opened the October 25 show, President Obama asserted re Ebola:

“I assure you, it was nowhere near as bad as how we handled the ISIS situation. Or our various Secret Service mishaps. Or the scandals of the IRS and NSA and I don’t know if you guys remember, but the ObamaCare Website had some pretty serious problems, too. In fact, if you look at all the stuff that’s happened in my second term, this whole Ebola thing is probably one of my greatest accomplishments.”

A journalist next pressed Klain to admit “you have no actual medical training or background in dealing with infectious disease.”[float=right][/float]

Another reporter pointed out how “some have speculated you were brought in mainly to handle this from a political perspective, given the mid-term election in two weeks. Any comment on that?” He confirmed the assumption when he offered this advice:

“There are a few safety tips that people should be aware of heading toward election day. For example, the Ebola virus actually flourishes in warmer climates. So if you live in a southern state, such as Louisiana, Arkansas, or Kentucky, you actually may want to avoid any large public spaces like, say, a polling booth. One exception, however, is that we believe Latinos in red states may actually have an immunity to Ebola.”

I'm glad to see SNL get a little bit of their humor back, that they lost so long ago.  They've really missed all the action - think of the funny stuff they could have come up with these last six years!   :silly:

It's long overdue.  The problem returns when they go all in for the next Democrat candidate, then we're back to square one.  It's a shame.
