Liberals Now Blaming Conservatives for Ebola Outbreak

By Onan Coca   / 14 October 2014   / 0 Comments

The hot new trend in liberal finger pointing is to blame conservatives for the spread of Ebola in the United States.

Check out this tweet from MSNBC host Joy Reid.

And this one from liberal pundit Paul Begala.

Liberal Group the Agenda Project released this disgusting video calling Republicans “killers.”

Disgusting, right? The 2014 midterm season has seen Democrats sink to some incredible lows… but it gets worse.

How about this piece from the liberal Huffington Post that quotes the head of the National Institutes of Health who claims that if funding had not been cut we could totally have beaten Ebola already.

Ebola USADr. Francis Collins, the head of the National Institutes of Health, said that a decade of stagnant spending has "slowed down" research on all items, including vaccinations for infectious diseases. As a result, he said, the international community has been left playing catch-up on a potentially avoidable humanitarian catastrophe.

"NIH has been working on Ebola vaccines since 2001. It's not like we suddenly woke up and thought, 'Oh my gosh, we should have something ready here,'" Collins told The Huffington Post on Friday. "Frankly, if we had not gone through our 10-year slide in research support, we probably would have had a vaccine in time for this that would've gone through clinical trials and would have been ready."

It's not just the production of a vaccine that has been hampered by money shortfalls. Collins also said that some therapeutics to fight Ebola "were on a slower track than would've been ideal, or that would have happened if we had been on a stable research support trajectory."

"We would have been a year or two ahead of where we are, which would have made all the difference," he said.

Of course, the real issue has nothing to do with government funding. Funding is simply a red herring that liberals throw out whenever anything goes wrong anywhere.
Failing standards in education… funding problems.
Veterans Hospitals giving bad care… funding problems.
Crumbling infrastructure (roads, bridges, etc., etc., etc.…)… funding problems.
Crime, poverty, fraud, pollution, hunger, wildfires, abuse, corruption… funding problems is always the liberal cover story. However, we’re not fools. We can see through that, can’t we?
If you can’t see through it – let Twitter user CounterMoonbat help you.

CounterMoonbat spent 12 hours tweeting these counter arguments to the ridiculous idea that the National Institute of Health (NIH) didn’t get enough funding to study Ebola. Then he gave everyone the secret liberal formula to ruining our country…

CounterMoonbat is great and he did great work exposing the silly liberal argument about NIH funding – but he wasn’t the only one working on this. Erick Erickson at RedState also took a swing at the NIH Director’s lie with an article titled Fat Lesbians Got All the Ebola Dollars, but Blame the GOP.

Here were some of the interesting ways he found the NIH spending taxpayer dollars.

For example, instead of studying Ebola, the National Institutes of Health were studying the propensity of lesbians to be fat.

Then there was the money for a study on wives who calm down quickly.

And the Centers for Disease Control spent its budget on gun violence studies on order of the President as part of his agenda to curtail the second amendment.

The CDC also spent its money to survey what bus riders thought of HIV videos.

The point, dear reader, is this… never let the government or their cronies try and tell you that the problem is “funding.” We are the most prosperous nation to ever live on our planet, and we also happen to be an overtaxed nation of over 300 million people – the government gets more than enough money to operate. The problem is what the government and their agencies spend OUR money ON. Over the last 6 years the Democrats have dominated our government controlling 3 of the branches for FOUR YEARS and 2 of the 3 for the last two years… they have been the people deciding who gets what dollars. This attempt at casting blame on the Republicans is a desperate and disgusting effort to distract from just how horribly they’ve led our nation.

That's not an adequate accounting of what happened.  This has been going on a lot longer than the Obama mess that people call "an administration."  The bureaucrats are the ones that have been mismanaging the money.  Yes, it's true the CDC has been researching the pet causes of politicians, but it's also true they've been doing a fine job of wasting resources all on their own.

That's why I say the CDC and NIH could have had literally infinite resources, and still would have been caught flat-footed when the Ebola showed up.  The CDC had only ONE job, controlling diseases, and they messed it up.  That expression about what would happen if the government were put in charge of the Sahara Desert:  Inside of five years they'd be out of sand.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.
