Breaking: UN Worker Dies of Ebola in Gemany

An as yet un-named United Nations employee has died in hospital in Germany.

The male medic was infected in Liberia and was flown to Germany last Thursday according to Reuters. [2]

The man, who was transported to Germany in a modified Gulfstream jet was treated at the St Georg hospital in Leipzig.


“Despite intensive medical measures and maximum efforts by the medical team, the 56-year-old UN employee succumbed to the serious infectious disease,” a statement from St Georg hospital said. (source [3])

Another Ebola patient is being treated in Frankfurt. One Ebola patient has recovered and was released from a hospital in Hamburg after spending five weeks in hospital.
