CDC Wasted $1.6 Mil on Tranny Beauty Pageant Group

Obama’s billionaire Democracy Alliance trolls have already decided how they’re going to divert attention from Obama’s botched Ebola response. Via Erica Payne’s Agenda Project Action Fund (the political consultant trolls behind Throw Granny Off a Cliff) is blaming Republican cuts.
Like rabid dogs in a butcher shop, Republicans have indiscriminately shredded everything in their path, including critical programs that could have dealt with the Ebola crisis before it reached our country.
That’s from their press release. I’m pretty sure ordinary dogs in a butcher shop would also shred everything, but let’s pass on that.
In fact the CDC budget is at $6.6 billion. That money was wasted on assorted junk instead of being used to develop an available Ebola treatment.
Here are some of the places where that money went…
CDC’s “Modest” $200,000 Fitness Center: Includes saunas, zero-gravity chairs, and “mood enhancing” light shows
The CDC-funded Stop AIDS Project of San Francisco, California hosted an event regarding “Men for Hire.” The featured speaker was Joseph Itiel, who, it was advertised, “presents practical tips and covers the seven guidelines for safe and friendly relations with escorts.” Mr. Itiel had authored a number of books, including A Consumer’s Guide to Male Hustlers
HHS and CDC sponsored an August 19-20, 2005, Utah conference hosted by the Harm Reduction Project and the Harm Reduction Coalition — organizations that support tacit legalization of drugs, including methamphetamine. Several sessions planned for the conference appear to promote illegal drug use and risky sexual behavior such as, “We Don’t Need a ‘War’ on Methamphetamine,” and “You Don’t Have to Be Clean & Sober. Or Even Want to Be!”
And let’s not forget this…
On May 12, 2001, the Mr./Ms. UTOPIA pageant entitled “Jewel of the Pacific” was held at the Southeast Community College Auditorium. U.T.O.P.I.A is The United Territories of Polynesian Islanders’ Alliance, a 501(c)(3) located in San Francisco, California. The organization was formed “to provide support to the Polynesian Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender community.” A flyer for the event notes “funding by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention” and “Partial funding by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center.”
In 2001, the Center’s revenue was almost $3 million. In 2003, according to its website, its revenue was a little less than in 2001, but still near $3 million. While federal funding figures are unavailable for 2001, the group reports the federal government provided 38 percent of their 2003 budget, which would equal approximately a million dollars. In 2005, the federal government’s portion grew to 49 percent of its $3.366 million budget, or over $1.6 million.
Despite receiving millions of dollars from the federal government in the past few years, according to the Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center’s website, in the last 17 years the organization only has “served over 600 HIV-positive A&PIs.”
The level of incompetence we’re seeing isn’t due to a lack of funding, but to government waste and incompetence by a fossilized bureaucracy that likes its saunas and its drag shows and doesn’t like doing its job.
