At this sacred spot, all of us—sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, wives, husbands and friends—have the opportunity to learn the important lessons of courage, sacrifice, tenacity, loyalty and honor by bearing witness to the experiences of our heroes who are disabled.

The dedication ceremony for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial will be held on October 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial site, 150 Washington Ave., SW (Washington Ave. & Second St. SW). Check in and registration opens at 8:30 a.m., the Dedication Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude at 1:00 p.m. Gates will remain open until 3:00 p.m.
