British mom OKs release of son's motorcycle death video to serve as safety lesson

Brenda Holmes has released video footage of her son’s 2013 death when he was killed in a motorcycle accident. David Holmes was riding at speeds up to 100 mph when a car hit him on a Norfolk highway.

It took a split second for David Holmes to lose his life doing something he loved.

A safety video released by British authorities shows the moment a car killed the 38-year-old motorcyclist while speeding down a Norfolk highway in 2013.

His mother, Brenda Holmes, gave the Norfolk and Suffolk Police constabularies her blessing to publish his final moments and went on camera to hopefully prevent further vehicle accidents.

His father wishes he never bought David his first motorcycle when he turned 16, but his mother has no regrets.

“I would not have denied David his 22 years of finding pleasure,” she said.

Her son had recently returned from a stint of work in Antarctica. He wrapped up visiting colleagues before he turned on a helmet camera to show off his ride.

We have something similar in California called Red Asphalt. It shows really graphic car accidents. Sometimes they screen it at traffic schools.
