The latest grisly discovery came Thursday, a day after authorities found a severed arm in the yard of a Hempstead home.
The remains are being examined by the medical officer.
Police are looking to establish whether the severed limbs may be part of a partially dismembered body found in a municipal parking lot nearby.
Those remains were found on Tuesday by two passers-by in Bay Shore, about 25 miles east of Hempstead.
According to NBC, police in New York are assisting in the probe and looking into whether the case might be related to a mother of four who has gone missing.
That woman, 27-year-old Chinelle LaToya Browne, was last seen at her home last weekend, the report said.
