No problem. Many of us have different viewpoints. I like Rand Paul, along with Cruz, Lee and Perry, Perry and Palin, though I doubt Palin will ever run. She is good at what she is doing now.
Thanks to all. I'm glad I found this site. I'm conservative but definitely not orthodox. I do like a lot of Paul's views. He seems to be a guy who can support his viewpoints eloquently and is willing to fight for them. I like Cruz a lot, there's a few others who I think are bringing a refreshing change to the Republican Party and I'm glad that Paul is at least trying to reach out to younger people, it seemed like McCain and Romney had little interest and simply gave up on them, the problem is when you keep giving up on huge chunks of the electorate it just keeps making winning the White House progressively more difficult.
Because of his views on government surveillance, on economic issues, his lessened focus on the social ones, I do believe that Paul has a chance at real success electorally. The "government hands off" message seems to play well with younger people who are often quite libertarian but vote Democrat because they are largely scared off by the focus on social issues. If you make a compelling case to the young people who are getting out of college, struggling to finds jobs, if you can show them why Democratic opposition to energy issues, natural gas......the whole Obamacare debacle is against their own interests, I think there's a substantial amount of votes to be picked up out there by a candidate willing to go after the younger crowd.
