A recent Pew Research Center poll shows that 52 percent of Americans believe the U.S. failed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to UPI, this pessimism is shared by Democrats and Republicans alike.

When Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011, 58 percent of Americans believed the U.S. would achieve its goals. That number fell to 56 percent by the time U.S. troops began pulling out in November 2013, and by January 15, 2014, only 38 percent thought the U.S. succeeded.

Regarding Iraq, 51 percent of Republicans believe U.S. intervention ended in failure. 54 percent of Democrats and 52 percent of Independents agree.

Too bad we didn't try to achieve victory the time tested olde fashioned way; killing so many enemies they surrendered, unconditionally.

Instead we have the insane situation whereby Karzai dictates to the United States of America, the terms of continued US presence.

Simply insane. Truman and Eisenhower and MacArthur must roll in their graves.
