Chicago - The numbers are in and Chicago recorded the most murders in 2016 since 1996. The number of people murdered in the Windy City during 2016 stands at 762, the highest number since 796 homicides were recorded twenty years ago.

The statistics were released on New Year’s Day by the Chicago Police Department. While Chicago is the third largest city in the United States, the number of homicide victims in the city during the year exceeded those murdered in New York City and Los Angeles combined. Chicago also recorded 3,550 shooting incidents where 4,331 people suffered gunshot wounds.

The last murder of 2016 occurred around 1 p.m. Saturday. A 24-year-old man was shot to death in an apparent act of road rage. It is believed the man was killed after he hit a Mercedes.

The answer to the problem is easy; bring in more gangsters from South and Central America and Mejico then provide a sanctuary for them.

Relevant questions would include which if any of the worst cities, is not heavily black and often with black mayors and police chiefs?

It goes without saying, these inner city people get killed by their own, yet generally don't move away.  And they keep voting the same way-democrat.

This table of cities over 250,000 can be sorted to rank per capita, whereby St. Louis comes out "on top."

(I don't think you reach an Hispanic city until after about #25 Fresno then Tucson--all black before that)

In the politics area, is another thread on Chicago and what might be done. Sure, they should clamp down on the city.

It's not the first time, Chicago has gone way awry.

Burlington, Vermont is the state's largest city and one of the "bluest" cities anywhere, the democrats control everything.

In a quick search, I couldn't find any more recent numbers.

But -- even though it's a city under the control of the left, there is something VERY different between Burlington and a city like, say, Memphis.

The "problem" with crime in these cities isn't solely attributable to democrats.
It has to do with something else...
