Obama. Absolutely not a Socialist.
Obama on Wednesday awarded the highest honor that can be bestowed on a civilian – the Presidential Medal of Freedom – to 16 people, including a homosexual who led the socialist party in the United States.
On Bayard Rustin’s website, his lover and the executor of his estate, Walter Naegle, wrote about the gay activist’s life, including his 10-year homosexual relationship with the author and his national chairmanship of the Social Democrats USA, formerly the Socialist Party of America.
At the time of his death, Bayard Rustin was Co-Chairman of the A. Philip Randolph Institute and President of the A. Philip Randolph Educational Fund. He was Chairman of Social Democrats USA.
Oh, but don’t worry. Bayard wasn’t just a Socialist. He was also a Communist.
Rustin was a fascinating character. In his youth, he was a member of the Young Communist League — the youth branch of the Communist Party USA
“Living in Harlem, he saw that whenever blacks got into trouble, it was invariably the Communists who were willing to defend them,” his biographer, John D’Emilio, writes.
Barack Obama. Also not a Communist. He just gives them awards. For some reason.
Rustin drafted a “Freedom Budget,” released in 1967, that advocated “redistribution of wealth.”
Hope and Change.
