George Soros named finance co-chair of Hillary Clinton-backing PAC

George Soros, the billionaire Democratic donor, will join the pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC Ready for Hillary as a co-chair, the group announced Thursday.

"We are proud to welcome George Soros as one of the co-chairs of Ready For Hillary's national finance council," the group tweeted.

Soros won the title after contributing $25,000 to the group, which is working to boost Clinton as she weighs whether to seek the Democratic nomination for president in 2016.

The donation marks an early, not-so-subtle endorsement for a potential Clinton candidacy from Soros, one of the party's most notable donors.

Soros donated less money during the 2012 election cycle than he had during previous presidential election years, but he has given millions of dollars to Democrats and the Clintons throughout the years, including the Clinton Foundation.
