Tablet Help

I have a problem. No, not that problem, we never discuss that one.

My beloved wife is spending more and more time browsing the net, since we got rid of the TV. "Good for her!" you might exclaim. Except she has bad knees. Finds even a netbook too heavy to sit on her lap after about 20 minutes. She also dislikes wearing her reading glasses, so a smartphone, with it's minute screen, is not an option. That pretty much leaves us with the option of a tablet.

Problem is - I know zip about them. Capabilities, use limitations, ease of use (and it has to be incredibly easy to use! This is a person who has to be reminded how to log in to the company website every single time.)

Any suggestions/advice? It will primarily be used for reading both sites and books, checking the weather and hunting for recipes.
