Second Coldest Start To Spring In US History

Calling it Global Warming was one of the worst assaults on accuracy ever made and is rightly treated with derision. Climate Change is correct terminology.
Perhaps so but that is hardly the point. "Global warming", "global warming", was all the rage until it became clear the planet wasn't warming. So, unwilling to give up a wedge which was being used to extend government power and induce children and the naïve into a new pagan religion, the forces of collectivization came up with a new term to fleece the gullible and increase their power: climate change.
You have my permission to call it whatever you wish. How about we call the prevailing weather phenomena "Fred" and let it go at that? The outcome will be the same. In order to deal with Fred we MUST increase government controls and decrease economic activity (but only in the advanced quasi-capitalist countries) or we will all die.

Hey, Stop people talking about the weather and most of the population here will have nothing to say at all! :laugh:
I am on the fence regarding this. It is ridiculous to think that mankind can affect something as massive as the planet - then I remember how both Lake Erie and the Thames were dead, toxic swamps in my childhood. Some regulation is a good thing, because people will take the piss.

Thermometers show that April was the 11th coldest since 1895 in the US, but through the magic power of data tampering – NCDC was able to bump April up to only 23rd coldest.
NCDC accomplished this by cooling the past as much as 3.1 degrees.

Actually, it can. What the cultists call global warming is really a misnomer for an increase in the mean global temperature, which is merely a fancy-pants way of saying that there is more energy in the atmosphere and related environmental systems. With more energy in the atmosphere the jet-stream should pick up and should wander more than it does, and thus it should be possible to get more severe storms and more cold air masses being brought down from the poles - resulting in colder weather - than would otherwise be the case in the absence of that increase in the mean global temperature.
The problem with the Global Warming cultists is not that they think climate change is happening - it happens all the time and always has, in fact, right now we're in a relatively benign climate - but that they insist -without any real evidence whatsoever - that all climate change can be traced back to human activity.

That's the crux of it, the mistaken and supremely arrogant belief that human beings control the weather.
