If Congress chooses to go over the cliff on this, the military will be some of the hardest hit people right off the bat.  We are talking about summarily discharging thousands of military members, many with families and good careers, and putting them directly onto the nation's unemployment rolls.  There will be no separation pay and those discharges will come fast.

Not to mention that sequestration will spike unemployment up well over 10%.

Based on the announced layoffs and closures that are already loaded up before the end of the year...even without sequestration unemployment is going to spike...with it, it will be unprecedented in real terms (counting as they did 30 years ago).

And none of it will be laid at Obama's feet by the [state-controlled] media.
Well, George Lewis told the Englishman, the Italian and the Jew

I am so worried about our TRICARE coverage we already lost the plan we are on....but my son's career in the Army is now in jeopardy now...sigh...the military and their families are always the first to get hit and no one seems to care.

Perhaps it's time for the troops to stage another "Bonus Army" march - only this time, forewarned is forearmed.

That'll have to be the folks in the military; if the historical analog is to be followed, it'll have to be returning troops.
