My 25 year old twin boys grew up with the experience and awe of Star Wars.  And they were born 11 years after Star Wars came out.

Adam could recite the entire script of the movie as it's running.....until we tied him up and gagged him.

His twin, Bret owns an authentic Darth Vader helmet the actor wore during the filming.  It's huge!

The rapid advancement in special effects and 3-D will only make Episode 7 more successful.


...but $4 BILLION??  Wow!

I hope with all my heart that the new director uses CGI wisely.

I am curious if they are going to follow the Expanded Universe canon - or one path of that - or do something new and original.

I know what you mean.

The Transformer genre is unwatchable to me.  Even in 2012, the ground disappearing behind a fleeing car...truck....plane was tiresome.

They are not. Lots of great, original and cutting edge screenplays still make it to the studios.

They all get scrapped in favor of "what is going to make us money."

I mean, as a sci fi fan, can you imagine a good movie of The Caves of Steel and The Naked Sun? Both of them are already pretty much in script form, brilliantly written and hit all the bases - yet no one wants to do them.
