This is rather late, but better late then never. Shepard Fairey, the slug who stole a photograph from the AP and used to it create the "Hope" poster for Obama, got sentenced in September, 2012, to two years' probation and fined $25,000 for destroying evidence in his lawsuit with AP - evidence that would have shown he violated AP's copyright.
As Fairey's rise to stardom preceded Obama's election, one can truly Hope that Fairey's fall from grace will also precede Obama's.
