IBD/TIPP Poll

IBD/TIPP 2012 Presidential Election
Daily Tracking Poll

Day 4: Oct. 12, 2012

Obama: +0.7
Obama 46.4% | Romney 45.7%

The presidential race tightened further, with Obama holding a slight but statistically insignificant edge over Romney. In short, the race is a statistical dead heat.
Romney held on to his edge among the key independent voting bloc, with a 9-point advantage.
He also pulled even with Obama with upper-income voters, who had given Obama an 8-point edge a day earlier.
But Obama made gains among traditional Democrat voting blocs, including blacks, Hispanics and middle-income voters.

BHO pulls slightly ahead....

Sample: 37% Dem, 30% GOP, 34% Ind.

D+7

And there's your answer.
Liberalism isn't really about making the world a better place. It's about reassuring the elites that they are good people for wanting to rule over it.

IBD/TIPP Poll

IBD/TIPP 2012 Presidential Election
Daily Tracking Poll

Day 5: Oct. 13, 2012

Obama: +0.7
Obama 46.4% | Romney 45.7%

In a further sign of a tight presidential race, the results remained unchanged in our most recent sounding of likely voters.
The bounce that took place immediately after Romney's strong performance in the debate with Obama seems to have diminished.
There have been no major shifts among demographic groups with one big exception. Among independents, who make up about 28% of all voters, Romney's edge is down to 8 points from 20 points just four days earlier.

Polling period: 10/7 - 10/12
Margin of Error: +/- 3.5%
Sample Size: 804 likely voters (identified from 919 registered voters with party affiliation of 37% Dem, 30% GOP, 32% Ind.)
Methodology: Traditional telephone methodology using Random Digit Dial (RDD) landline and cell phone samples

IBD/TIPP Poll

IBD/TIPP 2012 Presidential Election
Daily Tracking Poll

Day 6: Oct. 14, 2012

Obama: +0.7
Obama 46.7% | Romney 46.0%

The race remains in a statistical dead heat, with Obama holding a slender 46.7% to 46.0% edge over Romney.
Obama's slight edge, which has emerged in the last 3 days, has in large part been built on a drop in independent support for Romney, though the former Massachusetts governor still holds a 9-point edge with that key bloc.
Also in the last 3 days: Obama has found growing support in the South (narrowing the gap with Romney from 14  to 7 points), padded his huge lead among Blacks and Hispanics (moving to an 81-point edge from 71), and recaptured urban voters (now a 29% lead, up from only 10 points).

These polls mean nothing - even the ones that give the lead to Romney, such as the Gallup; there is too much volatility, and most likely too much embarrassment among many "likely voters" who voted for Obama in 2008 and now cannot quite bring themselves to admit to someone else that they won't vote for him again for fear they'll be labelled as racists.

Poll is Democrat +7, and despite this, they still can't get Obama above 47%.

Nothing has happened that would have caused a huge surge toward Obama and no other poll shows that.  Every other poll as shown Romney ahead or it basically tied.

This poll is hosed up.  They claim Obama is going 22% of the "conservative" vote.  That is BS; probably liberals lying to the pollster.

I guess the feeling the purpose is to cancel out the Gallup polls in the RCP average.

Only problem it is a Plus 7 Dem sample. Adjust it to a more rational +3 Dem sample and it is 46 R 44 0 which is right in line with where Rass has it.

The only reason this poll is out there is to provide the Democrat propaganda machine with a counter to the Gallup poll that has R 52 0 45.
