The Democrats are actually starting to say it, they think the electorate has permanently changed.  That ethnic minorities and women will now dominate the electorate, provide the winning margin all on their own, and the white male (and white women who still like white males) will not have the votes  to be able to prevent a permanent turn to a leftist, entitlement based society.

I guess we will find out if they a right or if they are whistling past the graveyard this time.

Liberalism isn't really about making the world a better place. It's about reassuring the elites that they are good people for wanting to rule over it.

If that were true, how to explain the election of 2010?

That's an easy one - muted turnout in an off year election.  Only one side really turned out, the other didn't care or was depressed.  That is what they will say about it.

With der fuehrer back on the ballot again they will turn out again to make sure the real power stays where it is...at least that's how this theory goes...

And if that were true, Obama would be filling stadiums and not making appearances at Holiday Inn puppet shows.

I think this is their take on Nixon's old silent majority.
