Charlotte Observer: 'Dems blow it'
9/5/12 1:30 PM EDT

The editorial page editor of the Charlotte Observer is not happy.

Taylor Batten posted a scathing column Wednesday skewering the Obama camp's decision to move President Obama's speech indoors -- and turn away tens of thousands who had tickets, mainly area residents:

Not that the whole "most open and accessible convention in history" had a leg to stand on anyway, but now that claim is officially dead. The Democrats just yanked credentials from some 50,000-plus potential voters who had planned to cheer on President Obama's acceptance speech in person Thursday night. ...Thousands had volunteered for Obama's campaign for hours, and thousands more stood in line for many hours, to secure a ticket to the stadium. Thanks for the effort, guys, but ... never mind...

...It seems to be part of a pattern by the DNCC: Make big plans, then scale them back. First it was the Monday event at the Speedway being reeled in. Now this...

Republicans are speculating that organizers moved the event because they couldn't fill the stadium and didn't want the embarrassment of Obama talking to empty seats. Highly unlikely. Democratic officials say they gave out 65,000 credentials and had 19,000 more on a waiting list. They say they would have been turning people away, and there's no evidence they wouldn't have.

No, this isn't about lack of Democratic enthusiasm. But given this treatment, it might soon be.

Funny...but the Charlotte Observer staff appears to be like all other naive or biased media types. When they write a sentence that starts out "Highly unlikely, Democratic officials say..." and they do not understand that everything after that point is a bald faced lie - as everything Democratic officials say always is, without exception...then you know that the Observer staff is like all the other newspapers that are slowly dying away from their own incompetence and bias.
Well, George Lewis told the Englishman, the Italian and the Jew
You can't open your mind, boys, to every conceivable point of view
