2012 Campaign Graphics
« on: August 30, 2012, 02:28:33 pm »
It was time for a new graphics thread anyway, but this one is (should be) devoted to 2012 campaign images; images about the campaign but not necessarily limited to logos, bumper stickers and the like.

Here's my first one; full disclosure:  I borrowed the image from someone else (url: https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/558665_10151092911592740_1973974874_n.jpg), then added a few "adjustments" to it to render it as a square button image, like so:

My sincere apologies to the original author - any mistakes or errors are mine - and I'll be glad to remove it if it offendeth too much)

Oceander...I just made this up, and it's obvious that I am not Photoshop wizard.

Can you clean it up for me?

Do you want it to stay all in black and white, or do you want the Obuttocks logo with the strike-out rendered in color?

All black and white.

Apropos of the new sand sculpture idol of Obama the DNC is building for their convention:

All black and white.

What sort of clean up are you looking for?  Looking at it on screen, all I really see is that the obama-logo needs to be antialiased so that it doesn't have the jagged edges.  Is that all, or are there other points you'd like to have cleaned up?

The spacing on the text is a hot mess.

That's about it I think.

I can think of something using the typeface that was used in the infamous "Hope" poster, but it'll require me to rearrange the type.

Essentially, I would stack each "empty ..." phrase vertically, with the word "Empty" aligned.

You need the shoes to show weight and connect the figure to the ground.

Why would an empty suit have shoes? :pondering:

Why would an empty suit be standing up by itself?

I was looking for an animated gif that would aptly convey the inane lunacy of Obama and his criticisms that Romney and the Republicans are so last century; the standard laughing gifs just wouldn't cut it.

Well, lucky me - and lucky you - I found one.  With a little tinkering to make it run better (slowed the animation down by 20ms a frame), here it is:

Mitt Romney laughing (at Obama):

Fifty years since JFK.

Today, he'd be a Republican.

Almost certainly; I believe he'd conclude that the party had left him, not the other way 'round, in much the same way that Reagan said the party left him.

Speaking of JFK I ordered and just received today a new book called Road to Dallas... it was highly recommended reading with a lot of new info thanks to recently released FBI and CIA files on his assassination.
