5:50 -- After Asking If GOP Convention's Appropriate During Hurricane, Blitzer Assures Us Campaigning-Obama's 'On Top Of It'
Today a life was lost due to Hurricane Isaac. Today President Obama broke a long-held precedent of not campaigning during the opposition's convention and politicked in a swing state. In other words: Instead of being at his post during Isaac, Obama gave partisan speeches.
Last night during the convention, CNN's Wolf Blitzer and John Berman kept wondering if it was appropriate for the GOP to hold the convention during the hurricane. This was a Narrative they pushed all night long. Not once, though, did they bring up the fact that Obama -- the guy actually in charge of FEMA -- also campaigned yesterday, you know, during a hurricane.
Today, a Republican guest on Blitzer's show floated the idea that maybe Obama shouldn't be campaigning today. Wolf's ready response, "He's on top of it."
