Here's the challenge:

List fifteen albums that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen that come to your mind, because those are the ones that matter the most to you.

It may be the album that was playing that night, that first night, or the one playing the night.

It may be that old Andy Williams vinyl recording, with pops and scratches that your parents used to dance to when you were a kid, or the one that you listened to, siting cross-legged on the floor, back when you were 25, in '64.

Don't take too long to think about this.

You have more or less than fifteen?

That's fine, just do it!

Albums are hard for me, as I always bought singles. The only reason I bought an album is if the single wasn't available, or if it was greatest hits.....LOL

I was never much of a 45 RPM buyer, I always figured that I could always hear the "popular" songs on the radio. I still, to this day, hear a couple of songs that I like from an artist, then buy the CD because I figure that the rest has something else worth listening to.

Most of the time they do.

That's how I find things like this.

Blue Suede shoes: My mom playing it on the piano and singing it with the Elvis record!

The Christmas song: Mel Torme, again mom playing and singing with the record.

Rag MOp: Ames Brothers, same as above!

Twist and shout : The beatles! No mom on this one..LOL

JOy to the world:  Three Dog Night, also saw them a couple of years ago in person and they rocked!

 Brandy: Looking Glass and Brand new key: Melanie,  songs I listened to every morning on the way to school

Then I got into the soul......
Anything Temps and Tops, I think I was 11 at the time..LOL

then my all time fav is  Give me just a little more time, by my good friends: The Chairmen of the Board! Which is now the Swiffer commercial! I cry when I hear that commercial..LOL  I saw the Chairmen on  Bandstand and Soul Train when I was 11 and fell in love with their music!  I became friends with them when I was in college. Still friends today, even with the passing of the late Great General Norman Johnson.

After that I was a soul junky, which is now called Beach Music in the Carolinas! Too many songs to name that make me happy in this genre!

Smiling just thinking about all the songs we Shagged to at Myrtle Beach.. Shag is a dance for you people not in the South..LOL

Good list!

I associate music with events in my life; it seems that some songs always transport me to some earlier time, and I can almost recall exactly what it felt like to be there.

It's like emotional time travel.

The current drummer for Three Dog Night is a guy named Pat Bautz, I went to school with his older brother, and hung out at the Bautz's a lot; watched little Pat grow up.

He's a good friend of my younger brother, since they went to school together, and now, when the group hits a toen near either one of us, we get to "hang" with the band before the show.

I'll be seeing them in December, God willing.

P.S. Brandy, by Looking Glass takes me somewhere very special every time it comes on. Anyone that knows me well, knows that's my all-time favorite song.

That is a great question! It could take days for me to come up with a list, but I'll probably enjoy doing it.
