Rush Limbaugh: President Barack Obama moving right to win

Rush Limbaugh on Monday accused President Barack Obama, who is calling on Congress to extend some of the Bush-era tax cuts, of moving to the right just to win reelection.

“Isn’t it amazing?” Limbaugh said on his radio show. “Here is a guy who wants to be reelected — don’t believe all this talk that he doesn’t — here’s a guy that wants to be reelected as much as he’s ever wanted anything, and in order for that to happen, he has to push tax cuts.”

While other Republicans are painting the president’s move as “class warfare,” Limbaugh believes it’s an attempt to woo the right before November.

“It just confirms everything that we’ve said over the years about the left, and that is when they’re in trouble — and that’s most of the time — when it comes to time for reelection, they go conservative,” he continued. “They try to claim the mantel for themselves. They do it only for a few short months leading up to the election, and then they abandon all of that, of course, after they’re elected.”

Since campaigning for the presidency, Obama has pledged to extend the tax cuts for those making less than $250,000 a year. He had promised to let the cuts expire for those making more than a quarter-million dollars, but agreed to a two-year extension as part of a compromise with Republicans in 2010. Earlier Monday, Obama held an event in the East Room to kick off a new push to extend the cuts.

“[A]t the top of the list of things that he blames Bush for are these tax cuts,” Limbaugh said. “President Kardashian today is going to extend the very tax cuts that he says have caused his own economic problems.”

The conservative radio host also added his voice to recent high-profile grumbling about the Romney campaign.

“This campaign has to be about Obama, and Romney is gonna have to look at Obama the way he tarred Newt and the way he tarred Santorum,” Limbaugh said, according to a transcript. He went on to argue high unemployment couldn’t hand Romney a victory, since Obama had expanded entitlements and made it unnecessary for many voters to have jobs.

“Reality is reality, and the economy and its condition is not an automatic win-win for Romney or the Republicans right now,” he said. “It just isn't.”

What's really amazing is that Team WTF really thinks this is an effective move!  He sure didn't come up with this idea, it reeks of vintage Pelosi Politics, and that should be a good indicator of how desperate this crew really is getting....
