BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: There's a great video.  I had some of the audio from it yesterday, didn't get to it, so I've got it here; we'll do it soon.  A great young conservative bunch of people, no doubt Rush Babies.  I don't know it, but any young conservative today has to be a Rush Baby.  It's called FreeMarketAmerica.org, and they have released a new video entitled "If I Wanted America to Fail."

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Now, here's the audio from this great video put out by FreeMarketAmerica.org.  This video was actually done especially for Earth Day and the greenies.  Earth Day every year is April 22nd.  It is called, If I Wanted America to Fail.  We got three bites.

"If I wanted America to fail"

NARRATOR:  If I wanted America to fail, I'd use their schools to teach one generation of Americans that their factories and their cars will cause a new ice age, and I'd muster a straight face so I could teach the next generation that they're causing global warming.  When it's cold out, I'd call it climate change instead.  I'd imply that America's cities and factories could run on wind power and wishes.  I'd teach children how to ignore the hypocrisy of condemning logging, mining, and farming, while having rooves over their heads, heat in their homes, and food on their tables.  I would never teach children that the free market is the only force in human history to uplift the poor, establish the middle class, and create lasting prosperity.  Instead, I'd demonize prosperity itself so they will not miss what they will never have

RUSH:  It's brilliant.  I love it.  It is exactly grand-slam home run material.  It nails the environmentalist wacko movement.  It's just perfection.  And it's close to my heart.  This has been, this whole global warming, climate change, manmade, has been probably in my top five most-important-to-me-to-see-people-get-the-right-news-about-it issue since I started this program.  For 23-plus years practically every day I've been talking about the lies and the techniques.  And right there these guys nailed it in that little bite of 49 seconds.  Guilt everybody, you're causing climate change with your factories and your thermostats and your comfortable lifestyle and the car you drive. You're causing it, but there's redemption for you if you follow our directions.  You allow your taxes to go up. You start driving a bunch of little clunkers around. You basically give up a little freedom. You stop enjoying as much of life as you can. That's the price you have to pay for destroying the planet.  This is exactly the technique these guys, these people, young people got it.  And other young people listen to young people, and this is a video that went viral out there.  Here's the next example.

NARRATOR:  If I wanted America to fail, I'd make it easier to stop commerce than to start it, easier to kill jobs than create them, more fashionable to resent success than to seek it.  When industries seek to create jobs, I'd file lawsuits to stop them, and then I'd make taxpayers pay for my lawyers.  If I wanted America to fail, I would transform the environmental agenda from a documented conservation to an economic suicide pact.

RUSH:  An economic suicide pact. If I Wanted America to Fail.  And of course this is especially warm to my heart since on January 16th of 2009 I said, "I hope he fails."  Oh, that's another thing, for those of you new to the program. And, by the way, we now know, we got the numbers in from March.  Through the roof.  Skyrocketing.  All kinds of new people here.  January 16th of 2009, Wall Street Journal calls, "We want 400 words on what your hopes for Obama are as this historic new presidency is inaugurated."  And they told me they were gonna be asking a lot of other people to submit 400-word little mini-essays, gonna publish them in the op-ed pages of the Wall Street Journal.

I wrote back and I said, "I don't need 400 words or 200 words.  I can do it in four words:  I hope he fails."  And reactions were predictable.  But everybody who criticized me knew exactly what I meant.  They knew it then; they knew it now.  I hoped Obama's agenda would fail.  He's a liberal.  He's a socialist.  He's a Marxist.  I knew what he was going to do.  I knew what his policies were going to be, and I didn't want them to succeed.  I believe in free market economics, freedom in general, pursuit of happiness.  I didn't want Obama to succeed implementing his agenda because it would be detrimental to the country.  Everybody knew that, but it was too big an opportunity for 'em to let it go so they had to demagogue it, criticize it.

Here's how it ends.  This next bite is how this video, If I Wanted America to Fail, ends.

NARRATOR:  I'd concede entire industries to our economic rivals by imposing regulations that cost trillions.  I'd celebrate those who preach environmental austerity in public while indulging a lavish lifestyle in private.  I'd convince Americans that Europe has it right and that America has it wrong.  If I wanted America to fail, I would prey on the goodness and the decency of ordinary Americans.  I would only need to convince them that all of this is for the greater good.  If I wanted America to fail, I suppose I wouldn't change a thing.

RUSH:  If I wanted America to fail, I wouldn't change a thing.  Meaning, Obama's headed down the right path toward American failure.
