I used to say this at the FR and took a lot of flack for it, but here goes ...

The CDC put out a report that greater than 1 in 10 pet owners are infected wtih their pets parasites, roundworm, hookworm, toxocariasis, and other things you'd dare not think about it. The numbers go up drastically if you let them on or sleep in your bed.

The amount of pets in America has skyrocketed, in fact, it's literally out of control. The amount of people infected with parasites in America is in the 10's of millions and there are only a handful of parasitologists in America, and most are completely ignorant. Call your doctor and tell him you think you have parasites, that you even seem them in your stool and the first thing he'll ask you is what countries have you been too, a parasitologist will ask the same thing, yet the CDC has the numbers of Americans infected in the 10's of millions. A lot of illness is causes by this but goes undiscovered and people simply die.

Drugs like Abilify (Aripazole) are anti-parasiticals, just like all other azoles, Fenbendazole, Menbendazole, Albendazole and so on. That is why the side effects listed for Abilify (used to treat depression) are exactly the same as anti-parasiticals. One wonders what they truly know vs what they are willing to let the American public know.

Letting dogs and cats sleep in your bed? I think not, especially if you have children.

It is almost a law of history that the same wealth that generates a civilization announces its decay. For wealth produce ease as well as art; it softens a people to the ways of luxury and peace and invites invasion from stronger arms and hungrier mouths.

I'm guilty too, my cats sleep on the comforter cover - but I wash that frequently.  I love sleeping with my cats, they're like little heaters in the winter.  If letting them sleep with me is wrong - then I don't want to be right.

I too am guilty of letting the critters sleep in the bed.  With the exception of the day I change the sheets, I need one night a week to sleep on clean sheets.

Let the pets sleep in the bed??  I'm lucky if our pug Gus lets ME sleep in the bed!

I have an electric blanket on my side of the bed in the winter, and Gus' favorite spot is right next to me on that blanket, right in the middle of a king sized bed, and once he's anchored there is no moving him.  He rolls over at night, plants all four feet and stretches.....pushing me closer to the edge.

Ever wake up in panic in the middle of the night because of the adrenaline rush you just got from nearly falling out of bed..??

That's me.

When I get up in the morning and the Missus stays abed, Gus shifts over and crawls under the blankets to snuggle next to Mom until she gets up.

And yes, the Missus changes the sheets weekly and the bedding seasonally.  Like watching sausage being made, there are some stark truths in life that will never be comfortable to talk about.....

For my 50th birthday, our daughter presented me with a rescue ferret named Mippsey.  She had a pair of ferrets and knew how much I enjoyed playing with them so she got me started on ferreting with one of my own, and I still have four, seven years later....

Before I knew what little sneaks they could be, Mippsey managed to stage a jail break and got out of her cage.  I went looking for her, and this is exactly where I found her, sound asleep, on the bed propped up against my pillow.....

Scythian, you bastard!  You've got me itching all over now!!
