My wife just agreed with me that at the start, Ringo was sort of the "ugly duckling" of the group.

Now at 70, he's fared the best of them all, in my view.

Looks much better/younger than Paul (*age related correction required), they've outlived the other two, he's married for many years to a beautiful wife, he's been clean and sober for a long time.

John?  :pondering: are you sure you don't mean Paul?  Otherwise...... I really hope he looks better than John.... :kisses2:

WOW the memories...

The Beatles early stereo recording had all the voices stacked on the opposite side of the instruments.

We used to listen to them sing a capella.    Or, we'd do a 60's version of karaoke and play only the music.

THE BEATLES - Ask Me Why - 1963 HD PV

I realize....listening to this right now, that if you could name one person who altered history...relating to John Lennon, it wasn't Mark David Chapman.

It was Yoko Ono.  If not for her, the Beatles may have stayed together, and Lennon wouldn't have gone all peace-nik crap on us.

But his voice....turn the speakers up for this one.

Must confess, that I did not treat my record albums like Waterford crystal.  When they started to skip, I bought another.

But the covers did serve as food plate coasters every now and then.

LOL!.....you made me remember my best friend Gino.

God help you or anybody in the room if the sound of the needle dropping onto the vinyl comes through the speakers.

Step one:  turn down volume (there was no "mute".
Step two: make sure the record surface is perfectly clean.
Step three:Get the needle ON the record where it needs to be and gently adjust the volume.

.....Unless it was Vivaldi.  For that you could crank it up.  Vivaldi and David Bowie.  Go figure.

The Beatles I Saw Her Standing There (2009 Stereo Remaster)

I remember the 1st time I heard this on the radio.

A profound effect.

4 guys.  A simple song.  A simple arrangement.  That changed the world.
