The Weir-Voronov soap opera gets, well, soapier. Or something.
Quote
Johnny Weir and Victor Voronov’s divorce has already gone to the dogs.

The ice skater-turned-Olympic commentator is alleging his soon-to-be ex-husband beat Weir’s Japanese chin, Tema, TMZ reports.

Custody of the pooch is already a point of contention in the couple’s heated split: Weir claims that Tema is his, while Voronov regards the pint-sized canine as “the family dog.” But Weir has fired back in the legal battle, accusing Voronov of “[striking] the dog with force on occasion when we were married.” He also says that upon returning to the couple’s former home to pick up some items, Tema was in a bag with Voronov, crying and clawing in an attempt to escape.

Weir’s affection for his pet is no secret. His Instagram account features several snapshots where Weir dotes on the dog. ...

[lots of photos of silly looking dog here] ...

The dispute over Tema is the latest installment in a split that’s played out in the media and has included allegations of domestic violence, threats to release nude photographs and destroyed Birkin handbags.

Madonna wears Islamic garb
By Bryan Hood
NY Post

Quote
Madonna, no stranger to shock, is at it again, this time posting a picture of herself in a niqab on Instagram Tuesday.

In the photo, only the 55-year-old’s piercing blue eyes can be seen through a gold-adorned headscarf. Frequently confused with a burqa, the former only covers the face, while the latter covers the whole body.

“Its that kind of day! #unapologeticbitch,” she wrote alongside the image.

As expected, the photo sparked debate online, but not just because the Material Girl was wearing the often-controversial garment: Lady Gaga fans rushed to credit their idol with co-opting the symbol first.

Last year she posted a picture of herself wearing a chain-mail mask to the social networking site.

This is just the latest example of a celebrity clumsily appropriating another culture. Earlier this week, Khloé Kardashian was criticized for wearing a Native American war bonnet.

“It’s absolutely terrible that they have no conscience to discontinue to do such things,” Cliff Matias, cultural director of the Redhawk Native American Arts Council, told Page Six.

Bill and Hillary are the Hamptons’ ‘It’ couple this weekend
By Emily Smith, NY Post
August 8, 2014 | 9:27pm

Hillary and Bill Clinton will be the toast of the Hamptons this weekend as they move into their $100,000 Amagansett August rental.

Saturday, the couple, along with daughter Chelsea, will be fêted at the Water Mill home of former Wall Street exec Joan Hornig and her investment banker husband George.

Tickets range from $5,000 to $50,000 for a couple who would receive co-chair status. Proceeds will go to the Clinton Foundation. [In other words, directly into the bank accounts of Bill, Hillary and Chelsea]

The former first couple has locked up a property at 44 Broadview Road for three weeks this month.

But it doesn’t appear to be much of a relaxing stay — Hillary is also planning to promote her book “Hard Choices” with an Aug. 16 signing at BookHampton in East Hampton.

Shriver had secret lover before Arnie’s affair was exposed
By Tara Palmeri
September 1, 2014 | 10:57pm
NY Post

Arnold Schwarzenegger may have shagged the maid — but wife Maria Shriver is no June Cleaver.

The Kennedy heiress was sleeping with her husband’s lead campaign strategist well before Schwarzenegger’s old affair with their housekeeper came to light, campaign staffers and other sources told The Post.

And after years of playing the betrayed wife, Shriver, 58, recently trotted out her longtime lover, Matthew Dowd, 53, as if he were a new fling, sources said.

Shriver stepped out with Dowd, now an ABC analyst, for the first time publicly last month at cousin Bobby Kennedy’s wedding.

“Maria likes to make it appear that she’s the victim, but she’s not,” a source said. “The [idea] that they started dating recently is ridiculous.’’

In May 2011, Schwarzenegger, 67, publicly admitted bedding family housekeeper Mildred Beana years earlier and fathering her son, now 16.

But Shriver, who didn’t separate from Schwarzenegger until news of his affair broke, latched onto Dowd in 2006, sources said. At the time, the twice-divorced Dowd was working on her hubby’s gubernatorial re-election campaign in California, sources said.

When Schwarzenegger was away, Shriver and Dowd would flaunt their affair in front of staffers, sources said, taking long walks together and spending alone time after meetings.

“There was a lot of flirtation,” a campaign staffer said. “They frequently spent time alone, and Arnold was rarely, if ever, around when they were together. She had a unique banter with [Dowd] and lit up when he was around. He was comfortable poking fun at her, and she would slap him teasingly.”

When Schwarzenegger caught on to the affair, Dowd was pushed out of his inner circle, sources said.

But the fights continued on the campaign trail, sources said.

“They were having blowouts in public over Matthew. Yelling and crying. Total chaos,” another campaign staffer said. “I was like, ‘How are we going to keep this from getting out?’ ”

Staffers had to choose — Team Maria or Team Arnold, sources said.

“There was no way to straddle the line,” a source said.

Dowd, in a direct-message tweet to The Post on Monday, denied he and Shriver had been involved at the time.

“There was no affair,’’ he said. “We were good friends.”

But Schwarzenegger’s staffers were told Dowd was the enemy and he was not allowed at the inaguration, an inaugural-committee staffer said.

In public, Schwarzenegger and Shriver remained a couple — but she continued seeing Dowd during her husband’s second term, a source said.

While Schwarzenegger was in Sacramento, Shriver went on getaways with Dowd, the source said.

She flew to New York in 2007 to stay at the Four Seasons and see Dowd, a source said. And they gallivanted around Santa Monica, Calif., and stayed at a hotel, the source said.

“She referred to him as one of her closest friends. The governor knew about it the whole time,” the source said.

In 2010, when he was booked for ABC’s “This Week,” on which Dowd often appeared, Schwarzenegger asked for a separate green room so they wouldn’t cross paths, a network insider said.

And Dowd bragged about bedding a Kennedy, sources said.

After too many drinks at a wedding in 2011, Dowd announced he was staying with Shriver at the Montage Hotel, where she lived during her separation with Schwarzenegger, a witness said.

When stories emerged in 2011 about Schwarzenegger’s love child, ex-staffers were told by a top aide to the governor to stay mum on Shriver’s affair.

“He did not want the dirty laundry out there,” a campaign staffer said.

Despite filing their papers nearly three years ago, the two have yet to finalize a divorce. A source said it’s being settled “amicably.”

A lawyer for Schwarzenegger declined to comment.

A rep for Shriver did not return a request for comment.

Ms. Rihanna Goes to Washington
By Suzy Byrne
Yahoo Celebrity
Quote
We now know how Rihanna spends her Thursday nights.

The Barbadian beauty, who we always assumed was out partying on Thursdays, revealed that she's a Gladiator at heart during a visit to the White House on Monday. The 26-year-old songstress documented her visit to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on her newly reactivated Instagram page – and her snapshots had a Scandal-esque theme.

Let's take a look back at her day, Instacram style…

When Ri-Ri showed up outside the Obama family's digs, she was having a very Olivia Pope moment. (Great hair? Check. Great outfit? Uh-huh. Great handbag? Got it.) She then used a – gasp – payphone to place a call inside.

"CYRUS!!! LET ME IN!!" she wrote, tagging it "#DayAtTheWhiteHouse."

She then kicked up a heel as she pretended to get her flirt on with Olivia's presidential squeeze.

"Fitz, darling..." she wrote.

While holding an impromptu press conference, she channeled another member of Olivia Pope & Associates.

"#heyAbby," she wrote.

She even compared her entourage to Olivia's, writing, "West Wing Posse!! We wanna be O.P.A. so bad!!! #DayAtTheWhiteHouse."

And she capped off her day with a street pose, writing, "The new America!!! #islandtingz #DayAtTheWhiteHouse." Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia, was amused by Rihanna's antics, tweeting that the singer and her friends were, "True #gladiators." Tony Goldwyn, who plays Fitz, tweeted to Rihanna, "I'll put in a word w the boss!"

Rihanna is in the District for The Concert for Valor, a show honoring America's veterans and their families, which airs live from the National Mall tonight. Other celeb participants will include Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood, Dave Grohl, Jennifer Hudson, and Oprah.
I don't know what all that "gladiator" and Olivia Pope crap means, because I don't watch insipid television, but is anyone else sickened by this? Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett to sing for Hillary
By Emily Smith
NY Post
June 9, 2015 | 10:09pm

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett will serenade Hillary Clinton at a fundraiser for the presidential candidate at Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel.

Tickets for the June 27 event are $2,700 a pop with a limited number of $1,000 tickets. But the devoted few who raise $50,000 get blessed with host status, a photo with Clinton (and possibly Gaga and Bennett) and an invite to a VIP after-party.

A source said, “They’re not sure if it’ll be a seated affair or if people will be standing — it’s a pricey night to be standing.”

Gaga has long supported Clinton, calling for her to run for president and blasting Tim Gunn for criticizing her pantsuits.

Gaga said in 2011, “I think Hillary Clinton has more important things to worry about than her hemline.”

Amal Clooney's chambers in last-ditch legal bid to save life of hated son of Colonel Gaddafi who was sentenced to death in Libya last week

* Saif Gaddafi was condemned last week for crimes against Libyan people
* Amal Clooney's legal chambers say he should be put on trial in the Hague
* She wants case heard by International Criminal Court – where there is no death penalty

By Robert Verkaik for The Mail on Sunday
Published: 16:00 EST, 1 August 2015  | Updated: 05:22 EST, 2 August 2015

Amal Clooney – the barrister and glamorous wife of Hollywood actor George Clooney – has made an 11th-hour bid to save the lives of the son of Libyan dictator Colonel Gaddafi and his hated spy chief.

Saif Gaddafi and the former intelligence boss Abdullah al-Senussi were sentenced to death in a Tripoli court last week for crimes against the Libyan people. Mrs Clooney’s legal chambers represent both Gaddafi and al-Senussi, and have argued that they should be put on trial in the Hague.

She has played a leading role in the bid for the spy chief to have his case heard by judges from the International Criminal Court – where there is no death penalty.

Last night her London chambers Doughty Street described the Libya trial as a travesty of justice and called on the United Nations to halt the executions. Gaddafi and al-Senussi have been told they will be killed by firing squad.

Lead counsel Ben Emmerson QC – speaking on behalf of the legal team acting in the case – told The Mail on Sunday that Mrs Clooney was one of three lawyers working for al-Senussi and that her Doughty Street colleague John Jones QC had been appointed to act for Gaddafi.

Mr Emmerson said the two cases were closely linked as legal arguments centred on the failure of Libyan courts to hold a fair trial.

He said: ‘The trial has been conducted in an atmosphere of extreme fear, insecurity and intimidation in which judicial officers and defence lawyers have been threatened and physically attacked.’

He added: ‘As his international lawyers, we have been repeatedly denied access to him [al-Senussi] – this is an outrage and reveals the true depravity of the Libyan justice system.

'It has descended to the lowest levels imaginable. We call on the Security Council and the whole international community to end this grave injustice and take all steps to overturn the death sentence immediately and uphold international human rights standards.’

In a separate statement, Mr Jones said: ‘It’s a complete show trial, a farce. This trial is effectively being run by militia.’

More than 30 associates of Colonel Gaddafi were tried last week for suppressing peaceful protests during the 2011 uprisings which deposed the dictator.

Saif Gaddafi was not in court, but has previously appeared via video link. However Mr Jones said the link had worked on only three occasions, leaving him in the dark about the proceedings. ‘They [Tripoli prosecutors] are relying on confessions from defendants extracted by torture. It was condemned by Libya’s own ministry of justice as illegal.’  ...

Gisele dons a burqa to secretly fix her ‘deflated’ boobs
By Yaron Steinbuch and Isabel Vincent
NY Post
July 29, 2015 | 6:00am

This woman in a burqa was not heading to any prayer services.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her kid sister hid under traditional Muslim wear — during the holy month of Ramadan — so they could get secret plastic surgery in Paris, The Post has learned.

The Brazilian stunner orchestrated the cloak-and-dagger mission so she could sneak into the swank International Clinique du Parc Monceau for work on her boobs and eyes, sources said.

A dead giveaway was the footwear — Muslim women are forbidden from wearing open-toed shoes.

A source said she was concerned that her breasts had sagged after having two children — and the surgery was a 35th-birthday and post-retirement present to herself.

Gisele and sister Rafaela were picked up by Bundchen’s longtime chauffeur at the Bristol Hotel and driven to the clinic on July 15, sources said. The photo below shows Gisele with the driver before she donned the burqa.

The next day, after the two surgeries, the trusty driver — who has worked for Gisele since at least 2010 — took the two women back to the hotel, where they packed up their belongings. He then drove them to the exclusive Les Sources de Caudalie spa, where Bundchen recovered for five days before leaving Paris.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel, who made $47 million last year as the world’s highest-paid model, according to Forbes, faced a chump-change tab of about $11,000 for her surgeries.

On Friday, Bundchen was photographed in sunglasses as she and Rafaela strolled through Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on their way back to the United States.

Gone was the burqa — which has actually been banned in France since 2010.

Bundchen, who had vowed to never undergo plastic surgery, announced her retirement from the runway in April, telling the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper that she had “learned to listen to her body.”

She said she’d devote her time to other projects off the catwalk.

“Automatically, my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop,” she said. “I respect my body; it’s a privilege to be able to stop.”

Her reps didn’t respond to requests for comment on Tuesday.

Chelsea Clinton gives birth to a baby boy, her second child
By Dan Merica, CNN
Updated 12:30 PM ET, Sat June 18, 2016
Quote
CNN)Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Hillary and Bill Clinton, gave birth to a son on Saturday, according to her Twitter and Facebook accounts.

"Marc and I are overwhelmed with gratitude and love as we celebrate the birth of our son, Aidan Clinton Mezvinsky," the former first daughter tweeted on Saturday.

This is the second child for Clinton and husband Marc Mezvinsky. She gave birth to Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky in September 2014.

The birth makes Hillary and former President Bill Clinton grandparents two times over. Hillary Clinton regularly mentions her granddaughter Charlotte at political events and is often asked about the baby when she works the rope line after events, with people asking for updates on Charlotte's progress with walking and talking.

Charlotte, though, has not made an appearance on the campaign trail, in part because Clinton wants to give the child some semblance of privacy.
"Until it happened to me, I just could not understand the impact," Clinton said this month about being a grandparent. "It is truly like falling in love all over again. There is nothing like it."

She added, "It's transformational and until you did it, it is hard to know. And it has for me been an absolutely life changing experience."

Chelsea Clinton married Mezvinsky, the son of two former members of Congress, in 2010. Ever since their daughter's nuptials, Bill and Hillary Clinton have applied good-natured public pressure on her to make them grandparents.

In April 2012, Hillary Clinton told ABC it wasn't "really up to" her whether she would ever earn the grandma title, but added, "I would like to have that title. ... I think I'd be pretty good."

Chelsea Clinton has regularly said that her parents were "unapologetic" in their pleas for grandchildren. "(They) are not shy about saying that in public and private," she told ET in 2013.

On Saturday Bill and Hillary Clinton issued an effusive statement about the latest family addition.

"We are overjoyed to be grandparents again with the arrival of our grandson, Aidan Clinton Mezvinsky, born on Saturday, June 18, 2016," the couple said.

"We are all over the moon as Chelsea and Marc welcome Charlotte's little brother to the world and grateful for our many blessings. Chelsea and Aidan are both doing well and enjoying this very special time together."
Not confirmed yet whether the little tyke has been named to the board of the Clinton Foundation.

Saw this on Facebook. This is the actress from the Tom Cruise "Top Gun" movie:
Quote
Kelly McGillis
· June 18 at 12:07pm · Edneyville, NC ·

I came home last night around 9:00 after attending a lecture by theologian Robin Meyers. The final conclusion of which was about loving others. 'Every single other.' When I arrived home on top of my mountain I notice the downstairs bathroom light was on (you can see it from the street). I didn't recall leaving it on but I was in there before I left brushing my teeth so I thought maybe I'd left it on. There weren't any cars around. I began collecting the bird feeders to bring them in for the night (we have hungry bears).

When I put my key in the front door it was unlocked. I thought it was strange but I made up the story that maybe I had left it unlocked just as I had left the bathroom light on. Upon entering the house I notice a pair of girls pink sandals and a black larger pair. I thought that maybe one of daughter was here because on of them has a key. Called out hello several times. I was trying to get rid of the stuff in my hand to better assess what was going on when a stranger, a woman, came barreling down the hallway and began yelling at me. I asked her who she is and why she was in my house and she said 'you know why you've been stalking me in Twitter.' Not true.

At that moment I got worried that there may be someone else in the house with house with her. We have quite a few guns and lots of ammo and that's when I started to panic. Thinking that if they have one of them I could be shot. I ran out the front door and called 911. She ran out after me and began punching and scratching my trying to grab the phone out of my hand. I began screaming as loud as I could hoping someone somewhere might hear me. I still had my car keys in my hand so I set off the car alarm. That distracted her enough to throw the cell and try to deal with the keys. More fighting ensued. I got the cell phone back and dialed 911 again. More fighting. And she once again had the cell phone.

I finally broke away, got in the truck and drove off trying to find a neighbor to call 911. There was no one around since it was Friday night, so I chased someone in a car, kept flashing my lights and honking the horn. They finally pulled over and she made the 911 call for me. A truly good Samaritan. Dispatch told me to wait there for there for someone to arrive.

Too shorten this ever long story. She was apprehended. I'm alright. Scratched and bruise. I feel very thankful it turned out well. But who I feel heartache for is the little girl that was with her. Mental illness takes many hostages. I don't know her name...but I would like to asked that you pray for her and her mother. On a lighter note...my cell phone was thrown in the street and run over by my pick up. Thanks to the Otter case it still is in good shape. Also I have RayBan glasses frames and the were ripped from my face and stomped on I don't know how many times. They are still wearable. It always a good day when you can find the positive in a negative situation.
