Page from Lost Angeles Free Press, Dec. 1967. Ad for venue called the "Golden Bear," which arguably hosted more top names of that era, than any other. There is a Facebook page for "The Bear," as it is still affectionately called.

One collector of such memorabilia states these pages were the "social media," of the day. Soon FM joined the pages, as "underground."

Arlo Guthrie, Butterfield Blues Band, Ian and Sylvia, Big Brother and the Holding Company (Janis Joplin).

That's kind of neat and that page shows they interviewed the editor of Ramparts. Does anyone remember that magazine? Glossy, expensive, radical too.

Small image, that almost looks like Soros? I don't know if he was active way long ago but Ramparts seemed to be real Berkley right, of course, they didn't get on the Democrats case much looking online at old covers.  Somehow, I don't remember how, the LA Free Press even found its way to New Mexico but by the 1970s, it seemed to have a lot of "hook up" ads.

I attended this Golden Bear concert Dec. 5, 1964, held in a HS auditorium for to handle a larger attendance.

Contrary to popular belief, Dylan played electric BEFORE the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. He did it Dec. 5, 1964 in Long Beach.

Noting that at 1:46 in the video, Brian May lead guitar player from Queen and composer of the song "We Will Rock You,"  is shown.

Brian May not exactly an inconsequential person, BTW. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_May

May holds a PhD in Physics, and votes mainly Conservative.

Dusty's early group with her brother, she was in another one that recorded even before this. Her brother is acclaimed in his own right, writing this and songs for example recorded by the Seekers, "I'll never find another you", in fact, the Australian band, the Seekers to me, is a bit of an incarnation of this band, the Springfields.

A British-born comedienne nails the classic girl group style and sound in 1983 . . . (and gets a cameo
from a Beatle while she's at it) . . .
