Poll: Nearly 3/4 of Democratic-leaning voters would consider AOC for president

Freshman Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York isn't even old enough to run for president, yet nearly three-quarters of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults would consider voting for her if she could.

A new Axios/Survey Monkey poll shows that 74 percent of Democrats and those who lean toward the party would consider voting for her if she were able to run. As is, the Constitution prevents anyone under the age of 35 from serving as president.

Ocasio-Cortez is 29.

Additionally, the poll found that 17 percent of those adults said they would "definitely" vote for her if she could run.

The youngest member of Congress — who has become a viral sensation on social media — even garners interest among segments of the Republican population. The survey found that 30 percent of Republicans ages 18 to 34 would consider voting for Ocasio-Cortez, while 28 percent of non-white Republicans would consider casting a ballot for the New York City congresswoman.

Ocasio-Cortez has promoted a set of progressive policies, such as a "Green New Deal" to address both climate change and economic inequality and a "Medicare for all" health care system. Following President Donald Trump's address to the nation on his immigration proposals to end the partial government shutdown, Ocasio-Cortez delivered an impassioned response on MSNBC in which she called the president's positions "anti-American."

The survey polled 2,277 U.S. adults and was conducted between Jan. 16 and 18. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points

You act just like she is all alone,or that there aren't many,many others who are programmed to react just like her. She is just ONE representative of a whole indoctrinated generation that were born with a sense of entitlement due to their skin color and their hatred for white people and capitalism. I know she is not alone.  Yes, there are many coming out of school fully indoctrinated in socialism or worse.  But overall, America is just not that dumb.  They picked Obama, but many in America went running around saying 'its time America elect a black man as president'.  Gone are the folks making idiotic statements like that.

Never, ever, underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.
We have subsidized the dumbing down of Americans for two generations at least, and most kids grandparents don't know how this country should work as well as their parents did.
 
Think about that. How few are left to teach them, how few even know themselves.
Think about the relentless attacks on morality as we once knew it, and the destructive cognitive disconnects among those who think they have the answers to woes which have plagued society since there were enough humans to have a society, yet demonstrate daily the only principles they follow are self-serving rules crafted of convenience and situation ethics.

Now, consider there is a generation who have been conditioned by role playing video games to shoot first and ask questions later (without remorse), not to mention the gangs in the 'hood who aren't playin', and this could be a real mess. Actually the fact that some many people stood behind Bernie scared the heck out of me and Beto coming so close to winning in conservative TX should have been an eye opener.

The brainwashing from the DEM party and the 'indoctrination' in our schools has fully taken affect.

IMHO the GOP conservatives needs to fully convey why they ARE the party of the future and show how liberalism hasn't worked in the past. Unfortunately we have RINO's who think that they only way to win is to appease the liberals, marxists and commies.

I have been saying since before Trump, that contemporary Republicans and conservatives had failed to do well enough at persuading voters of the advantages of their positions.

True enough, but the same can be said about the young senator Obama. All it took was one speech at the DNC to change his life forever, and at another  DNC a few years later is accepted the nomination. I can see the same thing happening here if the Democrats continue their shift farther Left.
