Graham is right.  He knows 800,000 families are being robbed of their money for this present time, even if they get it later which doesn't pay their bills now; doctor appts. like yours and mine can't happen for these people, and government contractors never get money as they can't work until government opens again.  The economy is going down by millions every week which is quickly going to billions, according to those who calculate the economy - heard those numbers today.

Graham is trying to do something to stop this insanity.

On Thursday at approximately 9:30 p.m. EST, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton tweeted that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi wished to take a military aircraft to travel to Afghanistan that night and on previous occasions because “Congressional spouses could fly for free on military planes.”

Pelosi and a number of other members of Congress had planned to fly to NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium and Afghanistan on the evening of January 17, 2019 as parts of the government constituting approximately 800,000 employees remain closed from a nearly-month-long shutdown due to expired funding.

Pelosi and her caucus had decried the conditions of the shutdown, which have caused affected employees to miss one paycheck thus far.

Fitton’s tweet referred to a 2009 JW press release which reported, in part, “Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained documents from the Department of Defense (DOD) detailing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s multiple requests for military air travel.

 The documents, obtained by Judicial Watch through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), include internal DOD email correspondence detailing attempts by DOD staff to accommodate Pelosi’s numerous requests for military escorts and military aircraft as well as the speaker’s last minute cancellations and changes. The following are a few highlights from the documents, which are linked in full below:

    In response to a series of requests for military aircraft, one Defense Department official wrote, “Any chance of politely querying [Pelosi’s team] if they really intend to do all of these or are they just picking every weekend?…[T]here’s no need to block every weekend ‘just in case’…” The email also notes that Pelosi’s office had, “a history of canceling many of their past requests.”

    One DOD official complained about the “hidden costs” associated with the speaker’s last minute changes and cancellations. “We have…folks prepping the jets and crews driving in (not a short drive for some), cooking meals and preflighting the jets etc.”

    The documents include a discussion of House Ethics rules and Defense Department policies as they apply to the speaker’s requests for staff, spouses and extended family to accompany her on military aircraft. In May 2008, for example, Pelosi requested that her husband join her on a Congressional Delegation (CODEL) into Iraq. The DOD explained to Pelosi that the agency has a written policy prohibiting spouses from joining CODEL’s into combat zones.

    Documents obtained from the U.S. Army include correspondence from Speaker Pelosi’s office requesting an Army escort and three military planes to transport Pelosi and other members of Congress to Cleveland, Ohio, for the funeral services of the late Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Pelosi noted in her letter of August 22, 2008, that such a request, labeled “Operation Tribute” was an “exception to standard policy.”…

Not everyone is a dogmatic party voter. You can bet your bippy the negative publicity from Pelosi and the other Dim elites taking a paid vacation with free travel to other countries while the government is shut down will ring a LOT of bells with undecided voters. It REEKS of "let them eat cake!".
