D.C. Judge Tells Furloughed Workers They Must Stay On The Job

A Washington, D.C., judge ruled Tuesday that furloughed federal workers who are not getting paid because of a government shutdown must continue to do their jobs.

It's a setback for the workers who brought the lawsuit against the Trump administration.

"Calling people back to work, as the federal government is doing, without paying them is unlawful," attorney Gregory O'Duden tells NPR. O'Duden is general counsel for the National Treasury Employees Union that brought the suit in consolidation with a claim from the National Air Traffic Controllers Association.

Dictator Trump forces people to work and will not pay them.
When he ran his business, numerous times he would not pay contractors who worked on his projects, so he has experience getting work done and not paying people.

Michael Cohen, Trump's personal lawyer for approximately 10 years, will testify before a federal committee in February.  He said in the past day or so, "I will tell how it was to work for a madman."
"Madman definition is - a man who is or acts as if insane."

Trump didn't shut down the government. Congressional Democrats did that.

I am not sure is someone like you is aware of this but we have a booming private sector. If these govt' workers don't like their working conditions they can go get a real job.

BTW can you explain to me how Trump forced Cohen to involve himself in a Taxi Medallion scam and not pay taxes? That is the reason his offices were raided and he was arrested. Loudmouth Blowhard is - some ignorant person who talks out their ass.

@The Ghost

That judge is full of crap when it comes to federal workers in law enforcement, the military, and emergency services.  IIRC,you even sign a document stating you understand this as a condition of employment.

Non-essential government employees are free to quit without notice,or to refuse to come to work  unless paid, though. They are not slaves, and this is not a police state.

I hate agreeing with you, but we agree on this.  With unemployment supposedly so low they shouldn't have any trouble finding a job that suits them better.

They could always go on strike. Good luck finding replacement workers who will work for nothing.

Trump can take credit for it all he wants. Facts are facts. The Democrats voted against the Continuing Resolution on Dec 20 and 21. That kept the government from opening. Trump never got the bill.

What does the Trump Administration have to do with it?  Congress is the one with the checkbook.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

-Ayn Rand-
