Christian Bale takes Hollywood to a new low, thanking 'Satan'
By Monica Showalter

Well, here we have it: a new low from Hollywood.

Actor Christian Bale, in his Golden Globe award acceptance speech, decided to thank "Satan" in his acknowledgments, apparently for inspiring his portrayal of former vice president Dick Cheney in the movie Vice, as the Hollywood chi-chi crowd cheered.

According to a report in Variety:

Christian Bale had one unconventional figure to thank in his acceptance speech after winning best actor in a comedy or musical for "Vice" at Sunday night's Golden Globes.

"Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration for playing this role," he said about his character of Dick Cheney in the political satire.

Malcolm X said: "The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that has perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasn't taken, tricked or deceived by the white liberal, then Negros would get together and solve our own problems

I doubt God was amused. Actually, no one should have been amused.
I have decided to officially and formally not apologize. I'm not sorry at all, even slightly.

Indeed, I especially want to convey my absence of remorse to anyone who was offended by what I said. If you are the sort of person who gets twisted into knots when someone articulates a point of view that differs from your own, then you are exactly the sort of person who should never receive an apology for a differing point of view — if I were offering one, which, again, I'm not.

The well-worn axiom that Hollyweird only cares about making money was thoroughly disproved during the last Iraq War when HW churned out numerous anti-war flicks only to have every one of them bomb at the box office (pun intended.)
A pro-war flick that just focused on one battle like the Marines taking Fallujah would have probably been a huge box office winner. HW did not make that film.
Clint Eastwood's "American Sniper",  a  movie mostly about the Iraq War that presented American soldiers in a positive light, did boffo box office.
