'A Very Clever Move': Ret. Army Col. Defends Trump's Decision to Withdraw from Syria

As seen on Tucker Carlson Tonight

Army Col. Douglas MacGregor (Ret.) on Wednesday defended President Trump's decision to withdraw all U.S. troops from Syria.

Trump's decision was announced shortly before Christmas, the same day that the president declared victory over ISIS in that country.

After Trump's decision drew bipartisan criticism, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) stated Sunday that the withdrawal situation is in a "pause."

MacGregor said Wednesday that many senior officials in Washington -- "products of the Clinton-Bush-Obama era" -- have a lot invested in the crisis in Syria.

"You have a lot of resistance to ending something that has been profitable for them. It hasn't been profitable for the American people. It's been a disaster," MacGregor said. "Trillions of dollars in debt over the last 17 years, thousands of people killed and wounded."

He said that once all U.S. troops are removed from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, "it's over."
"January 20th 2017 will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again."  --  President Donald J. Trump

I never understood why we were in Syria. Other than the Kurds, the Assad dynasty was doing a good job of keeping the crazies at bay. And they were a far less threat to Israel than ISIS is, for sure.

Iraq is now using it's planes to bomb insurgents in Syria. If they can do that it seems things might well be under control there for us to keep a minimum force there if ISIS ever comes back.

We never had any moves in Afghanistan. All the problem was in Pakistan. What we are still doing there I don't know.

BINGO! To admit withdrawing is the right thing to do now would be the same thing for them as admitting they have been wrong all along. They just are not going to do that,no matter who has to pay in coin or blood.

Cui bono?

Walk in Wisdom
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

But the noble make noble plans, and by noble deeds they stand.
