Yeah QE went out with the Obama administration. The Fed has stopped buying bonds & securities and is allowing those they accrued over the past ten years to mature without reinvesting.

My point was that people that want to crow about the economy and 401k's being better now and people being in positions to buy "Yachts"...need to realize that there is still a lot of smoke and mirrors going on behind the scenes to prop up the economy that aren't necessarily good for a truly healthy economy or retirement plan.

@RoosGirl I know you know this...but for those that want to keep pointing at low unemployment...I'll refer to the standard we were all in agreement on prior to January 2017 as to what the real indicators of low unemployment and a healthy economy where employment were concerned really lay.


Current U6 unemployment rate = 7.60

Current jobs participation rate = 62.9%
