Another nothing-burger? Catherine Herridge breaks down Michael Cohen’s guilty plea ‘bombshell’
November 29, 2018 | Vivek Saxena

Early Thursday morning word broke that President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen had pleaded guilty to lying to Congress during its investigation into possible Russian collusion.

Following the announcement, the perpetually hysterical left broke into cheers of gleeful applause over the belief that the president would soon be the next one to be indicted.

Here’s just a small sample of the left’s unrestrained glee:

To help Trump, Cohen lied to Congress about Trump’s business interests in Russia. The President’s own denials during the campaign were also false or misleading, and underscore the importance of investigating any financial entanglement between Trump and Russia.

Folks need to remember when Michael Cohen was negotiating the deal with “Russia” for Trump, he was not negotiating like a regular business transaction. The plea agreement says he was negotiating with Kremlin *OFFICIALS* — not private businesspersons. This is no ordinary biz.

It’s fun to think about trump going down, followed by pence leading to President Pelosi.

Oh he’s going down. Question is what for and if he can avoid it by giving incriminating evidence on Trump. Beyond that the question is how reliable of a witness he is / compelling the Trump evidence is.

On the former we have already seen how he’ll be attacked. On the latter: pic.twitter.com/ctle9cL2yC

If you were someone who’d ever contemplated flipping against Trump and cooperating with Mueller, wouldn’t today’s events constitute a tipping point? I expect the dimwit sons to stay loyal, but (if she has options) I don’t see Melania going down with her husband.

The problems would potentially arise, depending on how he answered questions, supplied by Mueller. For instance, if he says he had no business deals with Russia, during the campaign, he would be lying. There is a signed letter of intent for the project.  The defense deals Trump keeps touting with Saudi Arabia, that are so important to him, are based letters of intent over the next decade. It’s not semantics. We either have a deal or we don’t. He seems to believe those letters of intent mean we do. So, he can’t credibly deny his letter of intent for the Moscow project wasn’t one.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.
