OK, I'll accept what you wrote at face value.
But...
... If these people can no longer be reasoned with... if they no longer "share even basic democratic values"... then... what is to be DONE WITH them? And with the blue states in which they live?
Can we remain "a United States" with them?
If the answer is no, then what must be the alternative?

First, it's not just a "red state/blue state" situation. It is also urban v. suburban v. rural. So, you have blue states with significant groups of red voters, and vice-versa. There is no easy division.
Second, there are all sorts of possible alternatives, not "
the alternative". Everything from shooting in the streets, to a gradual dissolution, to people just putting up with a government they don't like, to people eventually coming around to respecting election again. I know there are some who secretly predict some sort of massive revolution/resistance, but that'a Romanticized vision of the future that is hardly inevitable.
