Mural of Beto as a Superhero Pops up in East Austin
By Spectrum News Staff  |  October 23, 2018 @9:18 AM

AUSTIN, Texas – A mural popped up in East Austin on the first day of early voting in Texas on Monday, painting one candidate as a superhero for the local community.

Artist and activist Chris Rogers hopes his piece, “Beto for Texas,” will inspire hope in Texans ahead of the close race between Rep. Beto O’Rourke, D-El Paso, and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

In the mural O’Rouke can be seen in front of a Texas flag revealing an emblem with a “B” underneath his ordinary clothes as an homage to the comic book character Superman.

Rogers said his goal was to show that “out of the darkness comes the light.” The mural took the artist 40 hours to complete.

Rogers has it backwards.  I'd say that when he executed a hit and run, he left the light and went into the darkness to escape.
Yearning to stay free takes place in many ways at many different times, whether by withstanding planes or bayonets

Boo.  He's mixing his comics.  Superman doesn't respond to the Bat Signal.  :nono:

Saw a few photoshops- B turned into Build the Wall, and one of illegals using Beatoff as hand and footholds to climb over the wall. Good stuff.

And the blind squirrel ... how can one forget the blind squirrel that he saved?  You know, the important things that would help Texans and America.   :rolling:
"I believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey it laws; to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies." -William Page

Oh, great. Another self-hating white guy chimes in idolizing a phony politician, and both propped up by an adoring media. Who could of seen that coming?

This is pretty standard now in political campaigns..

A born rich White Liberal kid who rides a skateboard and jams on bongos. That just described most of Austin. Of course he would be a hero there. He's one of them.

After the election when he moves to California, Beto (using his street name) will win every election he enters. That is where he belongs. Or maybe in New York City.
